Weigh In #3 2013

I couldn't wait to weigh in this week, but once I stepped on the scales I wanted to close my eyes and not look at the number, thinking I'll be disappointed again, thinking I'll probably have plateaued again. But no I'd lost weight.

I lost a pound this week and I am incredibly happy with that. And my body fat also went down by 0.3 per cent this week for a total loss of 0.4 per cent body fat in two weeks. That's almost half a percent.

So, what did I do differently? One of the main things I did was chill out and relax. I decided there was no point getting stressed or worked up about plateauing. As the saying goes there's not use crying over spilt milk...or no pounds lost in this case.

Another thing I did was eat more of a variety of foods. I realised I was eating a lot of the same snacks and mainly some form of oats for breakfast. I varied my snacks and breakfast, as well as having different meals for lunch and dinner.

I mixed up my exercise as well as my diet and did some Zumba on my Wii, which I haven't done in ages and took a new yoga class.

Next week might be a different story, I started a new job this week and it's a new routine, and we all know how a new routine can mess up our diet and exercise plans. I haven't really worked out much this week as I've been exhausted when I get in because I have to get up early and travel to and from work. I'm expecting I may stay the same or even gain a little next week.

  1. Great job! You only have a fewpounds left to go now right? Unfortunately that means they'll probably come off slow, but just keep at it, you're doing an amazing job! :)

    1. Ideally I'd like to lose another 10-15 pounds if I can. I'm not expecting a pound every week. Half a pound or even a quarter of a pound a week would be good.

  2. Sometimes a change in routine can be a good thing rather than a bad thing in all honesty. Your body gets used to same routine and a new one shakes things up and it doesn't know what to do and often leads to unexpected weight loss so dont fret over this week. Stay sensible and on track and you'll be okay.

    1. I'm trying to eat as healthy as possible during the week. I'm finding I'm needing more snacks but I'm picking healthy options.

    1. I've read that getting enough sleep is good for weight loss. I think destressing and chilling out is good for the mind and body.
